The Chemistry of Equality

The Chemistry of Equality – All Ireland Network for Gender Equality in Chemistry
OVERVIEW
Who we are
We are the first EDI Network comprising all HEI Chemical Sciences Departments in Ireland. The role of this Network is to empower a culture of gender equality across the Chemical Sciences in Ireland and enable us to become a beacon within and beyond our institutions by leveraging sectoral experience, building a productive community of practice and collating relevant shared data.

Network activities
Our invited speakers cover a wide range of topics, exposing the Network to inspiring practices and sharing practical experiences on advancing female representation (and other underrepresented groups) nationally within the Chemical Sciences.
The School of Chemistry’s EDI committee at Trinity College Dublin organised the 2024 in-person meeting for the All-Ireland Network for Gender Equality in Chemistry. The meeting, titled The Chemistry of Equality, was funded by the GENDER EQUALITY ENHANCEMENT FUND 2023, and brought together representatives from all Chemical Sciences Departments in Ireland, who shared ideas and best practices in order to promote EDI actions within our schools and institutions. This network is the first of its kind in the country, building the first national EDI STEM Network.
A summary of the Network's most recent initiatives. We are actively applying for funding both nationally and internationally in order to support some of our EDI initiatives.
